Madelyn "Becki" Irene DePersio

Madelyn Irene DePersio, lovingly known to family and friends as “Becki,” passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the remarkable age of 97.

Born on July 7, 1929, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Madelyn was the cherished daughter of Daniel Soder and Lola Mamaly. Her parents immigrated from Greece, and they instilled in her the importance of family, hard work, and celebrating life's many blessings, values she carried with her throughout her life.

Madelyn embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved the ocean, enjoyed cocktails with family and friends, and had a joyful spirit that made her the life of every gathering. Whether she was playing tennis, golfing, practicing yoga, or simply laughing with her grandchildren, she found happiness in sharing life’s moments with the people she loved.

She was an active woman who loved staying busy. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf, practiced yoga, and faithfully attended the gym well into her later years. Following her retirement, she generously volunteered as a hospital greeter, welcoming countless patients and visitors with warmth and kindness.

Madelyn had a playful side that her family adored. She had an impressive collection of wine glasses, martini glasses, and other unique glassware, as well as more pairs of white jeans than anyone could count. She loved dogs and nearly came home with a puppy while spending time by the pool with Kelly, a story her family still laughs about today.

Above all else, Madelyn's greatest joy was her family. She always put her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren first, cherishing every moment spent together. Her love was unwavering, her encouragement constant, and her presence a source of comfort and strength to those who knew her. Madelyn is survived by her beloved children, Vicki, Tony, Suzanne, and Chris; her cherished grandchildren, Carrie (Caroline) Heap, Anthony DePersio, Daniel Thaut, Katie Ellis, and Dan Nelson; nine treasured great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony DePersio, and her parents, Daniel Soder and Lola Mamaly.

Madelyn's legacy is one of love, laughter, generosity, and living life to its fullest. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her devotion to family, and her ability to make every gathering brighter simply by being there. Though she will be deeply missed, the countless memories she created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
