

Magdalena Landicho Romero, 88 years old, resided in Las Vegas for 4 years, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 at 2775 Agate Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada after a long history of Alzheimer's Disease. She was born July 22,1928 in Santa Clara, Sto Tomas Batangas, Philippines to Bonifacio and Benita Landicho. Magdalena attended elementary school in Batangas, Philippines. She attended FEU High School in Manila, and went to Far Eastern University in Manila where she graduated with B.S.E. degree with a major in Mathematics and minor in General Science. She found love in teaching and taught Physics and Algebra in college. Magdalena found her soul mate and long time partner Honorio Romero in Manila, Philippines. They had 3 children; Rommel, Rechilda, and Marilou. she started her teaching career in San Juan, Batangas, Philippines. Afterwards, she started working at Post Office Telegram in Manila. Magdalena worked there until she migrated to the United States in August 1969 for a better future and settled in St. Louis, Missouri. Her husband and children followed her the following year. After arriving in America, she worked different jobs to provide for her family. Magdalena started working as a nurse assistant at a local hospital..Then she taught algebra class at Webster College in St. Louis, Missouri temporarily. She worked as a cashier, as a librarian at St. Louis University and landing a job as a seamstress which was her love of her life. After several years, Magdalena retired and decided to travel with Honorio and started a concession business. There they sold different ethnic foods including filipino barbecue and saw different parts of the country. She enjoyed doing this and finally she moved with Honorio to Las Vegas in 2013 to be with her daughters. Magdalena enjoyed cooking filipino food and catered to different families on holiday occasions. She loved sewing and enjoyed making dresses, gowns, curtains and pillows from scratch. She enjoyed dancing especially doing the famous Filipino Carinosa dance, and the Tango dance. She was active in the Filipino Senior Community of St. Louis and participated in many activities. She is survived by her husband, Honorio; her son, Rommel and grandchildren who live in St. Louis, Missouri; her daughters, Rechilda and Marilou and their children who live in Las Vegas. Her goal in life was achieved thru her hard work, and her dream for her children was to obtain the highest education.
