A Las Vegas resident since 1971, Marc was born on February 3, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY. At age 10, Marc learned to play golf in Bethpage, NY. His passion for golf led to his being Captain of the golf team at University of Miami, and many enjoyable golf games at The Las Vegas Country Club, La Costa and Legacy Golf Course (including four hole in ones!). After attending Mepham High School on Long Island, Marc attended college at University of Miami and New York Technology School of Business. As a food executive, first at Vogel’s Dairy in NYC, the Vogel family moved to Las Vegas in 1971 and established Casino Foods Corporation, a food distributorship to local hotels and casinos. Marc was gregarious, selfless, and funny. His presence would light up a room, with his quick wit and outgoing personality. Marc loved life, loved people, and never complained about his health challenges. Marc‘s love of sports extended past golf and he had the opportunity to meet and befriend many sports celebrities during his life. Whether he was organizing the Hall of Fame Golf Tournament at in 1981 with friends Joe DiMaggio and Jim Brown or following The Running Rebels, Marc tried to live every day to the fullest sharing activities that made him happy with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Vogel, mother, Miriam Vogel, Uncle Genie Vogel. Marc is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Sugar; daughters Lauren (Randy Freedman), Ilissa, and Sonney (John Berkowitz); granddaughter Jordan; triplets Matthew, David, and Madison; sister, Dale; uncles, Allen Vogel (Irene), Jan Vogel (Sandy); many, many, loving nieces and nephews; and a world of friends. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 3, 2018 at King David Memorial Chapel 2697 E. Eldorado Lane LV 89120. Family will be sitting shiva at the Vogel residence on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Family requests donations in his blessed memory made to Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valley Verde Dr., Henderson 89074. King David Memorial handled the arrangements.
