Maria C. Asuncion

Maria Caridad Ragasa Asuncion of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 19, 2013, at Sunrise Hospital at the age of 83. She was born on November 23, 1929 in Sta. Cruz, Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She retired from McBryde Sugar Plantation.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente Guzman Asuncion; parents Catalino and Martina Ragasa; siblings Pracedes and Lourdes Ragasa, Pedro Ragasa, Fernando (Matia) Ragasa, Santiago (Alejandra) Ragasa, Jose Ragasa, Crispin (Leonila) Ragasa, Rafael (Patrocinio) Ragasa, and Rosalina Alquiza.

She is survived by her son Rolando (Virginia) Asuncion of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters Cristina (Rizal) Balgos of Las Vegas, Nevada, Catalina (Mario) Yago of Las Vegas, Nevada, Celenia (Winnie) Ruaboro of West Covina, California, Cynthia (Chato) Iglesia of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Rose (Mario) Dulatre of Lihue, Hawaii; sister Josefina (Felix) Iloreta of Kapaa, Hawaii; brother Rosario (Violet) Ragasa of Molokai, Hawaii; sisters-in-law Ellen Ragasa and Esmerna Ragasa of the Philippines; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mass will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89110. Burial to follow at Palm Mortuary where she will be laid to rest in peace and be with the Lord.
