Maria Linda Lim Santos

Born on August 26, 1955, Maria was called home to her parents, Rosendo and Amalia Lim, and older brother Salvador R. Lim, on September 3, 2026, after complications from recently diagnosed Leukemia. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the arms of her daughter. Though her 71 years on this Earth were short, the impact she has left on her daughter and extended family will live on forever in their hearts through laughter, shared wisdom, and an endless amount of love.

She is survived by her only daughter, Kristine Marie Lim Santos, age 31, and her remaining siblings: Cleofe L. Datu, Marcelino R. Lim, Gracia L. Garcia, Rosendo R. Lim Jr., and Octavilla L. Malana.

She leaves behind a lasting impact on her nieces and nephews, whom she had hands in raising, spread throughout the world in the Philippines, San Diego, CA, Overland Park, KS, and Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, she leaves behind 3 grand-nephews: Isaac, Theo, and Owen Datu. Her family was everything to her, and she adored them all. Her absence will be felt for millenia. We extend our heartfelt apologies to her family members who cannot say goodbye in person.

Maria obtained her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration in her home country of the Philippines. Throughout her career, she thrived in her work at the University of Kansas Medical Center, working in Accounts Payable, and forging meaningful friendships. In the last 10 years, she changed careers to work in the medical field, working in assisted living facilities where she found her greatest joys in the friends she made with her coworkers and patients.

Though her journey was treacherous, Maria’s ability to find the joy in every corner of the universe was astounding. A woman with every reason to be angry, bitter, and jaded - she chose to lead with love, following her Catholic faith, rather than turn cold. Her hardships never defined her, and she continued to lead a life of love, laughter, and endless singing and dancing through her hardest moments. She sought solace in her faith as an active member of the Catholic community in Las Vegas.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Maria’s life and joining in mass to say our final goodbyes.
