Marie Darlyne (Kabylnick) Seals, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026. She was born in May 1935, near Wilton, North Dakota to Katherine (Brezden) and Peter Kabylnick. Marie was one of six siblings - five girls and one boy - and stories from her childhood included growing up on a farm, and the cold winters in North Dakota.
Marie valued education, hard work, and being involved in her community. She attended Wilton High School in North Dakota, and moved to Las Vegas where she met William (Bill) Seals. Bill and Marie were married in December 1967 and shared 54 years together before Bill passed in April of 2022.
In Las Vegas, Marie built a career at Southwest Gas as a keypunch operator and eventually became a supervisor. She spoke fondly of her years with the company and took pride in the work she did there.
Volunteering and staying active were important parts of Marie’s life. For 25 years, she volunteered at the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Thrift Store, supporting the organization’s work with children, youth, and families in need. Marie was also a member of the Emblem Club.
Together with her husband, Bill, she enjoyed more than 50 years of community service, friendships, and travel through the Elks Club. Marie felt “lonesome” without Bill, but was thankful for the full life and countless memories they shared.
Marie had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting pink glass and pigs, working on puzzles, and, perhaps most memorable for those that were lucky enough to enjoy it, cooking. She was known for her warm smile, her sense of humor, and her “feisty” spirit.
Marie is survived by her siblings Kathleen Tubbs of North Dakota and Anton (Jim) Kabylnick of Minnesota, as well as nieces and nephews in Nevada, North Dakota, Minnesota, and California. She will be dearly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life for Marie will be held at Palm Mortuary Eastern on Monday September 28, 2026.
