Hi Margie, I sure do miss you these days and your level head sense of humor.  Just wanted to let you know that Leland (your birthday buddy 3Jan) passed the same day as you -31May.  Now talk about the ultra rare randomness of both you and Leland’s birthdays being the 3 Jan and both of you passed on the 31May.

I miss you so much every day. You left me with so many wonderful memories. All of our fun times with our travels. You were always there and ready to go wherever the car would go. You were the best mother to both Joanna and I. We were so lucky to have such a loving supporting mom. There is such a void in our lives but I know you are watching over us each day. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of you. I cherish all the good times we had together and find myself laughing at some of the funny moments we shared. Joanna and I have been able to travel a little to some pretty places and enjoy some good girl time together. We are making some new memories of our new shared adventures. . You have been gone for a year now but you will always be in my heart. I miss so much that I cannot reach you by phone and just talk like we used to. I have so many memories of all of the happy times we had together shopping or traveling and having a new adventure.  Rest peacefully but know Joanna and I know we had the best mom we ever could have been blessed with.  You are missed greatly each and every day.   Your daughters Jeanie and Joanna.

I was so deeply saddened when Jeanie informed me of your passing.

When I bought my house next door to your lovely daughter Jeanie almost 20 years ago, I had no idea that I was going to have a great friend for life, and the best neighbor anyone could ask for.  When Jeanie told me that you and I shared the same Birthday, I knew you were a very special lady!   Over the next almost 20 years, you and I always wished each other a Happy Birthday.  During your many visits to Jeanie, I always enjoyed seeing your wonderful smile and chatting with you about so many different things.  You were always so kind and sweet to me, asking how my parents and family were doing.  I especially enjoyed when we would all go out to lunch or dinner, and spend time together.

You raised two beautiful daughters, who  greatly value family and friends, and are so kind and wonderful.  Your daughters created such beautiful memories with you, and I know those memories will live on in their hearts forever.  You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten .  I am honored to have met you, and had you in my life.

Dearest and Sweet Margie ~

It is rare to find a person out there that have a special gift, a glow, or a magical spark… and by far you met all these beautiful qualities.  Visiting Joanna was always so fun to look forward to, but it was even more of an excitement and pleasure to see you, especially when you would be right at the front door to greet me with your glowing smile.  

I will never forget all the parties we celebrated, many for you.  The costumes we would wear and games we played.  The pure joy and delight in your eyes and that little naughty smile when I would sneak you some chocolate cake.  Also, how beautiful you looked going out and for special occasions, lipstick bright and pink, and hair done just perfect.  The trips we took to LA for Disneyland or just a casual time at Jeanie’s.  

You would tell me all these AMAZING stories of the past and they were sure better than Hallmark could ever write.  You always cared for my family and asked about them unconditionally, especially my 2 nieces who will never forget Grandma Margie.  I so loved sharing every adventure and pictures of the girls and watch your eyes light up with love and joy for them.   

You have raised two beautiful daughters that are so thoughtful and caring, just like you and I thank God every day that I have had you and the other two “Martin Girls” in my life, and I will always be there for them.

From the first time I met Margie, I could tell we are going to have a ton of fun!  No matter what our plans were, Margie always had a smile and made the funniest jokes.  When Margie met Gianni, I saw a glow and an even bigger smile on her. She often lit up the room with her happy demeanor, and we all loved her for it. Gianni and Margie were buds, and in true Margie fashion, she loved us as if we were her own. All the beautiful times we had at Disney Land with Grandma Margie was special. Again she was like a kid in a candy store full of excitement and joy. Watching her at Disney was such a fantastic experience because no matter how old one is, you still live life to the fullest and smile all the way.  Grandma Margie did that! Her daughters have the same beautiful qualities, and all tho Grandma Margie is at her final resting place, her joy and smiles live in her daughters. Grandma Margie Gianni and I miss you, and you will always have a place in our hearts.

Still processing that you are no longer here with us. I have so many great memories of you - Trips to Disney Land, Dinner's out, Hanging out by the pool...and, of course, sneaking you treats and sips of coffee when the girls were  not watching. I loved watching that naughty twinkle in you eye when we didn't get caught. You lived life to the fullest everyday. Knowing you wanted me to be a better person. You were loved by so many. You will always be in my thoughts, for now I have a beautiful angel in heaven, with sparkly eyes and a beautiful smile. I love you 

Sweet sweet Margie,  from day one you welcomed me into your home with open arms. You showed a true concern for me and my family. Joanna and I sure tested your patients: late nights out on the patio or just late nights out and about..always easy to talk with you while I was waiting on Joanna to get beautiful. We shared a true love of chocolate #Nuttybuddy’s on top the fridge,  

Your ornery smile when sharing stories of yesteryear will be missed.

Margie was a joy and her smile lit up her face. I enjoyed getting to know her and sharing some special birthdays with her. She was loved by her beautiful daughters and many others. I feel blessed to have known her. 
I am so sorry for your loss Jeannie and Joanna. 

When we first met it started out as Mrs. Martin .  We would exchange smiles and pleasantries at Dialysis. After a few weeks and many smiles and conversations it became Margie.  I am forever grateful to have met you, Jeanie,   Johanna , Morena and Salvi. Over time we all became friends. I would look forward to dialysis and all our conversations a lot of them centered on what was for dinner. During our talks I learned much  about you Margie and all those around you. I was able to share in your wonderful sharp wit, the peep shows (still have quarters with your name on them),  the adventures you Jeanie and Johanna enjoyed. Through these conversations I learned that you loved shopping,  Disneyland especially the ride Soaring,  CHOCOLATE,  cherry pie and all kinds of food and pink was one of your favorite colors.  I also witnessed the love all those around you shared with you. That quality shows what an awesome person you were. I am forever grateful that we all met. I will never forget you. My heart is broken as memories of you overwhelm my soul.  I miss that smile you’d give me as you’d turn the corner sitting in your wheelchair facing me.  Such a beautiful woman with your pink lipstick.           I see your chair and your not there.  Memories fill my mind of me telling you the anxiety I had too.  Before I knew it we had new friends.  Food was the main topic and you wanting ten cents for a peep show.  You were behind the screen.  We’ll keep that part quiet.  The joy, the laughter and you squeezing in my heart to love you. I was only (Rita)4 years old , my brother (Larry) was 5yrs when my mother Mabel married  Richard Grafe , that was the beginning of many years of love !!! The family consisted of Mom , Pop Grafe and Aunt Margie & Uncle Gene ….later came Couisns Jeanie and Joanna.  
We would spent Sunday afternoons watching tv 
Cowboy Shows, Ed Sullivan’s show etc.  Pop would make the best malts…. I can taste now!!! 
At Thanksgiving & Christmas after dinner Pop ( grandpa)would take Larry & I downtown to the movies on the circle give us money for show, popcorn & drink.  Drop us off & pick us later!!! It was a safe world back then.  Mom Grafe ( grandma) always made Christmas special with all the pretty wrapped presents!! Wrapped I white tissue paper with colorful star’s & ribbons.  Always had a big Christmas tree with lots of bubble lights , Bulbs & icicles!!! Remember many big family dinners with aunt Margie & uncle Gene  and in 1952 Jeanie Kay was born.  Pop & Dad was building a retirement home in Mississippi… one year aunt Margie little Jeanie & I went on the train there !!! I was so proud …. I’m sure you don’t remember it Jeanie you was so young!!!!such a happy time !!!!
In the summertime we was always going fishing, 
or looking for mushrooms, or walnuts out in the woods somewhere. Many happy special times with Mom & Pop Grafe ( grandma & grandpa)   I
A sad time in 1959 when Pop died … life changed. By then Aunt Margie , Uncle Gene & Jeanie had moved to California.  So Mom Grafe would spend the winter there & summers back here on Michigan street.   Life went on I grew up had Sherry & Doug!! Aunt Margie had Joanna.  
I went to work.  After a while  when Mom Grafe was older she stopped traveling back & forth !!! Aunt  Margie would come every year to clean & hang out.  We would go to Tea Rooms or Covered Bridge whatever we did it was special & fun.  I’ve been blessed with my dad Dick( died 2000)Mom & Pop Grafe ( grandma 1992 & grandpa 1959)  Uncle Gene ( 2018)Aunt Margie (2021 )

Dearest Margie -
 While our time together was brief,  I feel grateful that God put you in my path.  Your firey personality and sharp sense of humor will truely be missed.  You taught me a lot,  and I will keep those memories close to my heart like precious gems,  and think of you often in life.  May God hold your hand as you walk through the gates of heaven. Your soul will shine bright in the hearts of many.
