Marlene Levin

Marlene, a sweet, funny, and strong loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 20, 1938. She was raised in Cleveland with her brother and had a large extended family. She went to Ohio State to study education and planned to be an elementary school teacher, but left school to marry and start a family, eventually moving to Los Angeles, California in 1962. She spent her next 41 years in California raising her family, working tirelessly as an Executive Administrative Assistant for with a number of aerospace firms, and developing a love and passion for shopping, music, and especially sports.

Marlene moved to Las Vegas with her loving husband Leon Levin in 2003 and they immediately established a vibrant social life and made many lifelong friends. Following Leon’s passing in 2010, Marlene kept a very active social life, became involved in her synagogue and became a fixture at the South Point casino showroom and sports book. She even met the famous CBS sportscaster Brent Musburger, who brought her onto his radio show multiple times in 2018. She was a huge music fan and would rarely go a week without seeing a live act at the South Point. Aside from her family, her biggest passion in the world was sports. Marlene lived and breathed everything Dodgers, Lakers, Golden Knights, and Raiders.

Marlene is survived by her children David Orenstein of Las Vegas, NV and Neal (Rona) Orenstein of San Jose, CA; her grandson, Adam Orenstein; and granddaughter Kristin Levin.

Marlene was deeply committed to her family and friends. She was a friend to just about everyone she ever met and had a genuine interest in getting to know people and engaging in conversation. She was happy and loved being out and living life to its fullest.

Funeral services will be held at 9am on Mon. June 1 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City, NV 89005.
