Martin was born on December 31, 1935 in Chicago, IL, to Edith (nee Mallis) and Louis Winnick and had been a Southern Nevada resident since 2003. Marty was an Army veteran and served from 1959-1961 and was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. He was a member of Congregation Ner Tamid of Henderson. Marty was a competitive competition marksman, an avid chess player, and an active outdoorsman. He had a passion for vintage Corvettes, collecting chess sets and Ron Lee Clowns. He had a deep love for his family. Marty is predeceased by his parents; and sister, Maxine Edwards; and survived by Judith, his beloved wife of 37 years; daughter, Wendy Cardinale; two sons, Thomas Winnick (Carmen) and Mark Berens (Randi); six grandchildren, Ava Cardinale, Nicolas Cardinale, Layla Berens, Sebastian Winnick, Ashley Garcia, and Reinaldo Garcia; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden Rivera, Logan Garcia, and Anthony Vidal. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV. Family requests memorial donations be made to Congregation Ner Tamid, Henderson, NV. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
