Marvin Richard Hall, 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at L&M Home Care. He was met by his loved ones as he slipped away from the earthly bonds. He was born January 15, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Marvin Hall Sr. and Alyce McLaine who preceded him in death. He had one brother, Michael R. Hall who also preceded him in death.
Marvin grew up in Ardmore, Pennsylvania; upon graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Army and went to war in Korea. After three years in the Army, he went to work for the National Security Agency where he worked as an intelligence analyst. While in that position, he was able to travel extensively to several countries. Marvin worked a total of 42 years for the government and retired in 1993 and was sorely missed by his coworkers as he touched many lives with his gentle ways.
Upon his retirement, he babysat for James and Jazmine, his God children, but he was more like a dad to both of them and they loved him dearly. Marvin is the one who introduced Jazmine to tap dancing, ballet, etc. James was involved in soccer and softball, and Marvin made it a point to attend all of their events and take videos and pictures.
Marvin leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Palm Mortuary followed by a funeral service at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel at 12:00 noon.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
