Mary Lee Horne-Jackson, 79, passed away June 14, 2021 after battling a long, debilitative illness. An Air Force brat, Mary was born May 17, 1942 in Childress, TX. While living in Okinawa, Japan, she met William H. Horne. They later married in Wichita Falls, TX. They would have three children and later settle in Las Vegas, after William was stationed at Nellis AFB. Mary was an athlete, running track in high school. In her adult life, she played on softball teams and was an avid bowler. Mary was also a member of a steppers club, a Red Hatter, and a collector of art created by African American artists. She had an excellent sense of style. She also enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed taking her granddaughters on cruises for special occasions. Mary’s greatest pride was in her family. She is survived by her three children, William C. Horne, Tracy Y. Horne, and Toni Y. Horne; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, July 2nd with services to follow, both at Palm Southwest Mortuary.
