her immediate family close to her in Summerlin Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Melodie was born on October 31, 1960 in Hugo Colorado to Waldo and Dorothy Hubbard. She was youngest of three sisters (Becky Bradberry and Lahna Wimmer). She had a love for music and spent much of her early life practicing the piano, performing in the Limon High School show choir or playing her flute in the band. She played, Tzietel, in the High School production of Fiddler on the Roof and that love for musicals continued throughout her life. She also loved playing summer softball. She enjoyed leading the marching band as a twirler and was Homecoming Queen and graduated from Limon High School in the class of 1979. She met the love of her life, Gale Don Lukow, of Arriba, CO, during her time in High School and they were married September 30, 1979. They had two children, Megan and David.
Melodie began working for Mountain View Electric Association where she remained for 35 years. She spent most of her time in Limon playing piano and serving in the Lutheran Church, giving piano lessons to many children in the community, following her children, nieces, and nephews around to their many school activities, and remained active in the community choir. Gale and Melodie remained in Limon until 2015, when they moved to Pahrump, NV to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Melodie was never too far away from her kids or grandchildren, Mason and Dillon and spent endless hours coloring on the floor, building blocks and legos with Mason or playing catch with Dillon, and always knew just how to rock them or comfort them. She loved to travel with Gale and they enjoyed several cruises to the Bahamas and Alaska and road trips up the West Coast. She enjoyed many family vacations and often visited her sisters as well as her nieces and nephews, which she loved like her own children, and enjoyed making those special “Aunt DeDe” memories with them. She loved to cook family meals and make the holidays, like Christmas and the 4th of July, just a little extra special and could often be found floating around the swimming pool or lake. When Melodie was around her family, her eyes lit up, and her love for them was clear to everyone.
Melodie is survived by her husband, Gale Lukow; two children Megan (Tyler) Morgan of Las
Vegas, NV and David Lukow of Las Vegas, NV. She was adored and so loved by her two grandchildren, Mason and Dillon Morgan. She is also survived by her two sisters; Becky (Gary) Bradberry of Walsenburg, CO and Lahna Wimmer of Windsor, CO She also leaves behind many extended family members who she dearly loved such as her in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister
