Melva Freeborn, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 10, 2012. She was born Apr. 7, 1923, in Cattaraugus, N.Y., and had resided in Las Vegas for 10 years. She was a homemaker and wife of Lt. Col. James S. Freeborn, a retired Air Force pilot who passed away in 2007. She is survived by her son, John S. Freeborn of N.C.; daughter, Betty Bollman, of Las Vegas; two grandchildren, Autumn Lamar and Brett Bollman; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 20, at Church of the Nazarene, 3825 Pecos-McLeod. Donations may be made to Global Partners-Wesleyan World Missions.
