Micah David May, age 46, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Micah was born November 3, 1974 in Greenfield, MA. He grew up in a small town of just a little over 300 people, but he loved Massachusetts. He loved the snow, the cold and sledding. However, in 2008, he tested for Nevada Highway Patrol and followed his dream of becoming law enforcement, bringing him to sunny Las Vegas. He is survived by his beautiful wife Joanna, whom he met at Tropicana and the 95. This being where he may or may not have pulled her over for speeding. They fell in love and built an amazing family, raising two children together, Raylan and Melody, whom he loved dearly. He and Raylan would spend many days doing their normal tasks of “fix it time” in their home and on family vehicles. On one occasion, Micah spent three hours showing Raylan how to change the oil on their car. He is also survived by his parents, Edwin and Katherine May, and brothers Seth and Paul. Ed and Katherine describe how shy Micah was as a child, but how he grew into such a strong brave young man, loving his job and protecting his community. One of Micah’s talents was his strong wit, which he inherited from his Father.
Micah was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He put a smile on anyone’s face that met him. He loved his job so much and always was one-step ahead of the bad guy. Most of all, Micah was a Patriot, a True American Hero, that believed in protecting the rights of others and for those rights afforded to us through our Great Constitution of the United States.
A funeral service for Micah will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Central Church, 1001 New Beginnings Dr., Henderson, NV 89011. Following the funeral service will be an interment from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
