Michael Patrick McKenna, a resident of Nevada for over 34 years, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to John and Frances McKenna. Michael graduated from Poway High School, California; retired from the Nevada Highway Patrol and was currently employed with the WIS-Nevada Test Site. “Michael was an avid reader, was mischievous, and a huge history buff...he could tell you anything you wanted to know about any war. He was also nostalgic, opinionated, funny, stubborn, loyal, strong, stoic, and a resourceful hard worker...as well as the owner of one of the best laughs I've ever heard." (Kaly McKenna-Michael's little sister.) Michael was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances McKenna, and daughter Kaly. Michael is survived by his wife Johanna McKenna; son Christopher McKenna; sisters Michelle Demery, Linda McKenna and Kaly McKenna; brothers John McKenna and Tim McKenna; as well as many family friends.
