Michael Reyes Resma, 77, a resident of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on January 29, 2013 at St. Rose Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1935 in Cebu City, Philippines to Ciriaco and Leonila Resma. He had four siblings: Lydia, Melinda, Pacita, and Tony. In the Philippines his passions were: body-building, where he was “Mr. YMCA”, food, swimming and studying to be a pilot. In 1970, he came to the United States to help his sister, Melinda, battle cancer. He had a long career in the casino industry as a dealer and pit boss. He worked for many casinos; just to name a few: the Pioneer Club, The Mint, and opened Mandalay Bay. He lived his life to the fullest every day, enjoying life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid traveler and he traveled the world enjoying his favorite foods and the company of his great friends. He was loved dearly by all of his family and friends who knew him, because of his generosity, kindness, charisma and fun-loving attitude. Everyone who had encountered him had a smile on their face. He now looks down over us as our guardian angel and puts a smile on our face when we’re thinking of him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ciriaco and Leonila Resma, and sisters Lydia and Melinda Resma. Michael is survived by his sister, Pacita Robbins; brother, Tony Resma; son, Michael David Resma; and their families.
