

Michael Robert Rowland, 67, of Las Vegas, passed away June 2, 2016. He was born July 11, 1948 in Alameda County, California and worked in heavy equipment manufacturing at Peterbilt for many years, retiring from Gillig in 2004. Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved the Lord. He loved his dogs, enjoyed his iPad and going to the casino, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Michael was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Rowland; daughter, Stacey Valdez (Hector); son, Michael Rowland II (Adrienne); grandchildren, Steven, Caitlin, Hayley, Aiden, and Quintessa; sister, Pat Velasco; brother, Ross Rowland; as well as many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with funeral service to follow, at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. Michael will be laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
