I have just learned of his passing- Mr Topf was my mentor and the best example of who and how a person can be. His character was a shining example for me to follow even though I neglected to mention this to him in life.  He hired me around April / May 1988 and took me under his wing as a mentor I wish I had respected him more looking back, our departure  as friends was my fault and regret .  I will post more stories as soon as I process this.
