Murray Golub

Born on May 23, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, Murray was always proud to be a Bronx man. He never lost that connection to New York and remained a devoted New York Yankees fan and New York Giants fan throughout his life. Las Vegas, Nevada, eventually became his second home and a place that held many years of memories for him.

Murray was tough, spirited, and never one to give up easily. That strength stayed with him until the very end. At 86 years old, he continued to fight, proving once again that quitting was simply not in his nature.

Above all, Murray was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose family will carry his memory forward.

He is survived by his three daughters: Lisa Bailey, Jean Stevens, and Barbara Shehane.

Lisa is the mother of Cory Bailey and Colby Bailey.

Jean is married to James Stevens and is the mother of Jocelyn McKenzie, who is married to Paris McKenzie. Jocelyn and Paris have four children: Autumn, Aiden, Atlas, and Alastair.

Barbara is the mother of Clayton Williams, who is married to Kim Williams, and Jacob Williams. Clayton and Kim have two sons, Zephyr Williams and Parker Williams.

Murray’s final days were filled with love and the presence of family. There is special comfort in knowing that he made it through Yom Kippur. His family finds peace in the belief that he left this world forgiven, at rest, and ready to be reunited with those he loved who had gone before him.

He passed at 3:25 a.m. with his daughter Barbara beside him.

He will be remembered for his toughness, his loyalty, his love of New York, his years in Las Vegas, his family, and the larger-than-life personality that made him unmistakably Murray.
