Nancy Adams, a 55-year Las Vegas resident, was born in Kansas City, Missouri, July 28, 1929, and attended the University of Missouri, where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She married Bill Adams on April 15, 1952, and they welcomed a daughter, Alice (Adams) Koontz, the following year. The young family moved to Las Vegas in 1956, then back to Kansas City in 1958. Bill liked the desert so much, he left his job in 1960, and the Adams family returned to Las Vegas, shortly thereafter welcoming a son, Ross Adams. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom most of those years and was active in PTA and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Nevada and National Societies of Professional Engineers. After the children were grown, she worked first as the pastor’s secretary, then as a wedding coordinator, at the First Christian Church in Las Vegas, where she and Bill had been members since moving to Las Vegas. She sang in the church choir and was a frequent soloist. She is survived by her two children, Alice and Ross; her sister, Louise Hassell; two grandchildren, Jason Baggs and Darcee Losky; and four great granddaughters.
A memorial service has been planned for Friday, April 15, 2016, at First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Road, in Las Vegas. That date would have been Nancy and Bill’s 64th wedding anniversary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89106.
