Narciso Palma Eugenio

Narciso Palma Eugenio, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, He was born on January 3, 1941 in Laoag City, Philippines. Narciso lived a remarkable life defined by faith, perseverance, service, education, generosity, and love.

From an early age, Narciso learned the value of hard work. As a young boy, he helped support his family by selling newspapers and shining shoes. Those early experiences helped shape the values and principles he carried throughout his life. He was known as a hardworking man who never let life's challenges keep him down for long. Friends and family described him as joyful, resilient, prayerful, and someone who always found a reason to laugh and smile.

Narciso wanted to see the world so he joined the United States Navy in March 1964. His military career spanned 20 years and included service during the Vietnam War aboard a minesweeper. He was a Petty Officer First Class and was aboard the USS Implicit (MSO-455), USS Towers, USS Bronstein, and the USS Lucid. During his years of service, he earned several honors, including the Combat Action Ribbon and Good Conduct Medals. He also served as a professional development instructor for the Leadership and Management Education and Training Institute in Coronado, CA.

On August 24, 1968, Narciso married the love of his life. Their marriage was built on deep devotion. Narciso wanted his friends and family to experience the kind of love they found together. They loved dancing, attending parties, and opening their home to family and friends. Together they raised two daughters in San Diego and lovingly cared for nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Their home was always filled with laughter, and conversation.

A lifelong learner, Narciso pursued higher education while serving in the Navy. He earned a bachelor's degree and went on to complete an MBA and a Ph.D. in Business Administration. His passion for learning never faded, and later he returned to school to earn another master's degree in management. He encouraged his family to value education and took great pride in seeing all of his grandchildren earn college degrees.

Following his retirement from the Navy, Narciso pursued another dream by establishing his own real estate business. He believed that everyone deserved a place to call home, and he dedicated himself to helping others achieve that goal. His door was always open, and he welcomed friends, family, and even strangers with warmth and generosity whenever they needed a place to stay. He truly never met a stranger.

Narciso was known for his kindness, and willingness to listen. Whether someone needed guidance, encouragement, or simply a sympathetic ear, he was always there to help. He loved cooking and took joy in making sure guests never left his home hungry. His sense of humor brought laughter wherever he went, and his optimistic spirit brightened the lives of those around him.

As a grandfather, he found immense happiness in spending time with his grandchildren. He encouraged them to seek joy in life, pursue their education, travel the world, and embrace new experiences. Some of their favorite memories include trips for steak and eggs, visits to the casino, and the many stories and lessons he shared along the way.

Narciso's greatest legacy is the love he shared with his family, the lives he touched through his service and generosity, and the example he set as a man of faith, perseverance, and lifelong learning.

He is survived by his daughters, Maryann Eugenio-Ritchie and Ava (Chuck) Bair; his beloved grandchildren, Monica Ritchie, Sam Bair, Jacob Bair, and Alice Bair; brother, Ismael Eugenio, and his beloved family pets Pablo, Lola, and Mochi. He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Hospicia Eugenio, his brothers Arnold and Crisanto Eugenio, and beloved wife, Charry, whose love and partnership remained the cornerstone of his life.
