Neil Vernor Hopp

Master Sergeant Neil V. Hopp, 87 years old, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed on Monday, December 20,2021 at Infinity Hospice Care. Neil Hopp was born on October 6, 1934, in Bay City, Michigan to Vernor and Helen Hopp and has one brother, Arthur Gohr. Neil married Helen Jane Eisenacher on September 28,1954 and had 3 daughters Ruth, Debbie, and Tammy. He attended the Lutheran School in Bay City, Michigan and received his GED when he joined the military. He retired from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served 21 years as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps. He served his time in Vietnam and Okinawa. He received the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Service Medal and many more. After retirement from the military, he worked for Lucky Stores in Irvine, California until he retired in 1990 and then enjoyed watching sports and living life to the fullest. Neil Hopp is survived by daughters Ruth Correia of Hawkins, TX, Debbie Hopp of Las Vegas, NV and Tammy Smith of Las Vegas, NV and grandchildren Jennifer Correia of Jarrell, TX, Tanya Pantuso of Las Vegas, NV and Alan Rivier of Las Vegas, NV and great grandchildren Natalie and Daxton Goulet of Jarrell, TX, Julie-Ann and Zachary Rivier of Las Vegas, NV and Tessa Pantuso of Las Vegas, NV.

Visitation will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary 7600 South Eastern Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89123 (702-464-8500) from 2-3pm on December 31,2021 followed by services at 3pm. Reception will follow after services.
