Mr. Lalicata was my favorite teacher in high school. I had him for US History and Government, and senior year I was his teachers assistant. What a funny and awesome guy he was. I still think about how he and I would talk and joke around, beyond the way a teacher and student typically would. Thats because he was my friend. Rest In Peace, Mr. L. You were liked and respected by your students, and you were a fantastic teacher. 

Mr. Lalicata was one of my teachers at Bonita Vista High School.  He was one of the few teachers that truly cared about my education, my future, and my well-being.  He was a great man.  

May the image of his smile and the warmth of his love remain fresh in his family's heart until they meet again.

I am sorry for your loss. Nick and I worked together at Bonita Vista High and at the Bishops School. We just heard the news of his passing. He was a great teacher and a wonderful friend. He will be missed by many.

My Dad, Nickolas J. LaLicata has been my protector, my friend, my supporter, my father, my everything..My Dad showed me how to love and how to be loved..He instilled in me the importance of family.  He taught me how to be independent & how to be taken care of...my Dad never judged anyone, did not like the words hate or ugly...he was the most loving and caring man. He always treated my mom like a queen, respected her and loved her from the moment he saw her..he swept her off her feet with love honesty and respect.. He never raised his hands in anger...he was so intellegent and had such a passion for learning and teaching...there are so many things i wish u could still teach me Dad..i love u so much and wish u didnt have to leave me.  You made me a better person and i hope your with nana and nanu enjoying eachother once again...i wish u didnt leave us/ me..i am going to miss everything about you Dod...love always,

Mr. La Licata was a huge influence in my life growing up - being one of Frannie's BFF, I was lucky to hv known him, be part of his family, celebrate the LaLicata Holiday Celebrations and birthdays. They knew how to throw parties, only house in Crest that had a forest of Christmas trees in their home beautifully decorated during Christmas and delious apps and entrees you could only find in restaurants (Mr. LaLicata can COOK). He was one of those dad's you meet and you turn to your friend and say, "Your parents are cool and your dad is Awesome!" He showed true dedication to his family and it glowed. I love you Jeannie, Dom. N My Dearest Frannie. I am deeply heart broken for you three and I cannot express enough - my condolences for your loss.  RIP Mr. La Licata.

Cousin Nickolyous, what can we say except, we love ya and we're all going to miss you.  The times we did have together will keep us laughing when we reminisce about all the good ole times at Zizi Francie & Uncle Dom's house. Love ya Nick, God Bless You.

Nicholas Joseph La Licata, also known as Nick or Nicki Nickolyous, passed away December 13th, 2016.  Nick was born in San Diego's Little Italy on April 20th, 1946, to Dominic and Frances La Licata.  He graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1964, and received a degree in Social Sciences from San Diego State University in 1969.  Nick married Jeanne Marie Edwards on August 28th, 1971, after a brief courtship.

Nick was a huge history buff, and that excitement translated to his classrooms. He had a great passion for teaching, and loved seeing his students succeed in his classes, and later in their careers.  During his career, Nick taught Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and was awarded a Presidential Fellowship.  Nick loved to travel, and some highlights included Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia.  Nick was happiest, though, when spending time with family and friends, cooking great food, and laughingwell, mostly making others laugh.

Love you so much Dad, Hope we do you proud.

There are no words that I can use to describe the virtual hurricane of thought and emotion that flooded my mind upon hearing that my uncle Nick had passed on, leaving this material world behind, to join his father, mother, brother, and sister on another plane of existence, in another dimension, where the soul lives on in a spiritual form forever. May his body rest in peace, and may his soul be embraced with love and happiness.
