Nicole attended elementary and middle school in Las Vegas, NV and graduated from Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada in 1998.
Nicole was hired on January 2, 2007 by the Clark County School District and had been employed by West Preparatory Academy for 14 years. She was initially assigned to work as a Registrar and Elementary Clerk for a short period. She also worked as an Attendance Clerk, Dean's Secretary and Front Line Staff Employee.
Nicole truly had a heart for the students at West and cared deeply about their well-being. She was a mentor, confidant and sounding board for many students. She also developed relationships with some of the student's parents. Nicole was invaluable to the students and staff at West Prep as she always had their best interest at heart and they were her priority. Nicole was a hardworking employee who was dedicated and committed to performing her job duties.
Nicole loved God and faithfully watched the Joel Osteen Broadcast every Sunday. The messages of hope and encouragement spoke to her heart. She would call her mom and say, "he was talking to me today and he always wears purple". The colors purple and red were Nicole's favorite colors.
Nicole had a unique personality and left a good impression on everyone she met. She loved people and was a friend to many. She encouraged others with love and kindness and showed strength even in times of adversity.
Nicole had a beautiful smile and a laugh that lit up a room. She had an awesome sense of humor with several witty statements to give.
Nicole always took time to care for others as if they were family, helped them when they needed help and never asked for anything in return. The door to her heart was always open. God used her greatly in the areas of compassion, helping others and building relationships.
Nicole enjoyed life and spent most of her time at home or with family. She liked to exercise by walking. She enjoyed watching football and her favorite football team was the San Francisco Forty Niners.
Nicole leaves to honor and cherish her memory her two daughters: Tiarra Ta'Nay Craney and Ahmari Synai Culpepper; her loving mother, Gracie L. Burton; one sister, Nishon A. Burton and two half siblings, Tony Spann and Stacy Spann; two special aunts, Geneva Sweat and Johnnie Campbell; one loving uncle, Barry Burton; a host of cousins, other family and friends.
Nicole was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Craney.
