Noel Roberto Marasigan Castillo, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Born on September 6, 1959, in Batangas, Philippines, Noel was always inquisitive, with a deep appreciation for the sciences, the arts, and was an avid sports enthusiast. He graduated from Gordon Technical High School in Chicago and went on to earn his degree in Pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, practicing pharmacy until the very end of his life.
Noel moved to Chicago, IL in 1973 and lived there before moving to Las Vegas with his wife, Jocelyn, in the mid-1990s, where they made their home and welcomed their beautiful daughter, Kaitlyn in 1998. Noel and Jocelyn opened that same home to his parents, Teodoro "Ted" Castillo (d. 2016) and Adelaida "Helen" Castillo (d. 2003), in their later years, caring for them until they both passed away. The home was the gathering place for the family's large celebrations throughout the years.
Noel was known for his sharp mind, his love of a good laugh, and his talent for a well-timed practical joke. He never tired of telling stories from his childhood, and he cherished time hiking with friends and exploring new places abroad with his family. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, he followed the Bears, Bulls, and Cubs with pride no matter how far from home he lived or how well they were doing in the standings. Those who knew him remember him as a devoted jokester, always ready with a laugh, no-nonsense, and a man deeply loved by his family and his many friends. Noel was a devoted father to Kaitlyn Castillo and loving husband to Jocelyn (Tan) Castillo. His beloved dogs, Kaycee and Pogi, were a constant source of joy in his life.
Noel is also survived by his siblings: Joji Castillo (wife Leila), Wayne Castillo (wife Donna), Carlo Castillo (wife Donna), and Fatima "Candee" Beach (husband George); his nephews Joel, Joey, Kyle, Max, and Nolan; his nieces Laura (husband Matt) and Dana; and his grand-nieces Leia and Mayumi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teodoro and Adelaida Helen Castillo, and his dogs, Kaycee and Pogi.
Noel will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the love he so generously gave to his family, friends, and pets. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him and may his laughter always bring a smile to their lives.
