

Olga Espantoso de Suarez was the youngest of three children born to Carolina Tijero and Aurelio Espantoso in Havana, Cuba in 1924. She was raised in a happy home among lots of aunts and uncles and loving relatives. Her father was a leather tanner in the family business. She met the love of her life, Telesforo Suarez, in her 20s through a mutual friend. He was also the local milk man and would deliver milk to her home. They were married in the Catholic Church on December 20, 1953. Their first child, Olga Suarez, was born on August 23, 1955 and was followed by Armando Suarez on September 14, 1959, Juan Suarez on September 22, 1960, and the youngest, Carolina Suarez on October 23, 1964. Olga began her journey to the United States in the early 80s. They left Cuba for Costa Rica in 1983 and lived there for four years. They finally made it to the US in 1986, where they reunited with their family and began their new life in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was ecstatic with the birth of her only two granddaughters through her youngest daughter, Carolina and her husband Jorge Menendez. Carol Menendez was born on December 7, 1988 and Cosette followed 11 years later on March 3, 2000. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles in her spare time and spent many years traveling back and forth between Houston, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada. She will be greatly missed by all those she loved and touched in her 90 years of life. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
