Oliver Lee 71, passed away June 9, 2011. He was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Delhi, La., and was a 52-year resident of Las Vegas. He was employed by the Dunes Hotel in 1958. In 1959, he worked at the Nevada Test Site. As a pioneer, he was one of the first African-American dealers in the gaming industry, where he was employed at the Landmark Hotel, Sands Hotel for 22 years and later retiring as a table games supervisor at the Treasure Island. He was an amazing human being. He considered his home his paradise and he felt closet to God when he was working in his garden. He was an avid golfer and he spent many pleasurable years playing golf. Oliver is survived by his wife; three daughters; two sons; grandchildren; sisters; brothers; and host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 17. Visitation again Saturday, June 18, 3-4 p.m. with services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
