Orin is survived by and will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Rosalie; two daughters, Debra Lazer and Mara (Terry) Leliefeld; son, Michael Lazer; and the “joys in his life” grandchildren, Alyssa Kolke (Layne), Jacob, and Jared Leliefeld.
Orin was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 22, 1940, to Rachel and Samuel Lazerowitz. He grew up with over 50 first cousins who he went to school with. Many of his friends and cousins have stayed in touch throughout high school and have continued to stay connected each Sunday on Zoom. Orin was a fun guy, a daredevil of sorts, and was loved by everyone. He joined AZA in Minneapolis, as part of the North Star region, where he eventually met, Rosalie Silvert from Winnipeg, Manitoba, the love of his life.
Orin and Rosalie shared a deep love and were married in 1963 in Winnipeg and have always been together, except for a short 6-month stint in the army for basic training. They lived in Minneapolis for 7 years, raising their three children, then eventually relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, where they made a beautiful home for their family and quickly joined Beth Tikvah Synagogue in nearby Richmond, B.C. Orin sat on the board of directors, chaired the Ways and Means Committee and, along with other temple members, supported and helped build this synagogue’s physical building by leveraging their home mortgage.
Eventually, Orin and Rosalie moved to Las Vegas and built a home where friends and family have always visited. Even in retirement, Orin continued to work in sales. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and Dad jokes! He will be remembered always and forever. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
