

Wanda was born June 26, 1931 in Santa Monica, California where she and her siblings went to school and grew up. She became a young mother of three, until years later when she met her soul-mate, James Gilgen, and had two more children. They met in a popular bakery located in Santa Monica; Wanda worked at the front of the store selling baked goods.
Wanda got involved in racing cars and knew more about cars than most men. She once raced in the “Cheesecake Derby”. She also was a business owner. She and James operated a bakery in California for several years before retiring and re-locating to Las Vegas where they had gotten married in 1966.
She enjoyed playing the slot machines and having an occasional margarita. While at home she watched old movies and played cards. Wanda was also an excellent cook.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Linda; and parents, Albert and Lucille.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly Soto, Edward Gilgen, Janet Allen, and LaVerne Sweeney; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., September 25, 2012 at Palm Mortuary located at 7600 S. Eastern, Las Vegas, Nevada.
