

Patricia Ruth Montoya, 78, a retired resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on January 7, 2018 after a long illness at University Medical Center Las Vegas. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born May 24, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William and Eleanore Bothwell. She married Enrique Montoya on June 22, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. They made a life together along with their two daughters in Southern California for over 35 years.
Pat was an employee of the City of Los Angeles/LAPD for 33 years in the Clerical Dept. She started her tenure with the LAPD in 1962 and was part of the integral team that worked around the clock during the Watts Riots. Over the years, Pat worked for various Divisions of the LAPD, which included Hollenbeck Division, Parker Center, Rampart Division and finally Devonshire Division in Northridge. Over the years, she was promoted numerous times until she reached the prestigious title of Principal Clerk Police III.
Pat loved reading, crocheting, cooking and music; her favorite singer being none other than Elvis Presley, who Pat was fortunate enough to see in concert during her lifetime.
After Pat and Enrique retired, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they enjoyed living in a retirement community. Pat was involved with the community throughout the years often putting together pot-luck dinners and many social events. She became a member of the Red Hats Society. She took up country-line dancing and ceramics.
Patricia will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a loyal friend to all.
She is survived by her husband Enrique; daughters, Monica Maguire (Michael) and Robin Atkins; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on January 28, 2018 at Palm Mortuary from 1:00 -3:00pm.
