

Patrick M. Burke, 90, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013. He was born Dec. 3, 1922 in a village called Hospital in County Limerick, Ireland, and was an 11-year resident of Las Vegas. Previously, Pat and his wife, Maize, spent 35 years living and raising their family in Mulvane, Kan. Patrick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was called to active duty by the U.S. Air Force Reserves to serve in Korea again during the Pueblo Crisis. He retired as a chief master sargent with the Kansas Air National Guard. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He truly epitomized the "Greatest Generation," always in service of others and never asking anything in return. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, of 56 years, Maizie; daughter, Carmel; son, Kevin; daughters-in-law, Mary and Tammy; and grandchildren, Lauren, Austin and Connor. A funeral Mass will be to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128. Committal following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
