

Peter Augustus Rull was born in Hong Kong on November 23, 1945.
Peter was one of three children from Peter and Marie Rull, and a brother to Debra Rull and Rena Rull who were inseparable, and later a step-sister Marina Rull.
Peter attended Kowloon Junior School and King George V School in Hong Kong, and then attended the Imperial Forestry Institute as well as the British Army Staff College and Territorial Army Company Command Course in the United Kingdom.
Peter worked in Hong Kong’s Government Services, starting with the Agriculture and Fisheries Department managing country parks and reforestations of special areas. He then transferred to Urban Services Department working in the Leisure Services Department where he retired at the age of 55 as the Assistant Director in 2000. He was responsible for providing many amazing parks in the country like Kowloon Park, Victoria Park, Hong Kong Park, Hong Kong Zoological Park, Kowloon Tsai Park, and Lion Rock Park.
Peter enlisted with the Royal Hong Kong Regiment Volunteers in 1963 until it was disbanded in 1995, and finished his military career with the rank of Major and being appointed Regimental Second in Command after commanding C and HQ squadron. He was called into active duty in the 1967 Hong Kong Riots. He was awarded the Efficiency Decoration/Efficiency Medal.
He was awarded the Member of the British Empire medal by Queen Elizabeth II for his distinguished service and contribution to the British empire.
Peter was extensively involved in sport shooting which was introduced to him by his father Peter Rull Snr, who himself was a 5-time Olympian for Hong Kong. Peter competed in multiple Asian and Commonwealth games, culminating in his participation at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic games representing Hong Kong.
On March 13, 1973, Peter married Sheila Remedios at St. Theresa Church, Hong Kong, and was married for 50 years and together made many friends over the course of their lives. Peter and Sheila had two children, Stephen and Paul, who were born and raised in Hong Kong, and who were both loved and adored.
At his retirement, Peter and the family immigrated to San Mateo, California, where they made many friends in the local community and Portuguese Lusitano Cub. Peter and Sheila later moved to Las Vegas to be closer to their sons. Stephen married Leigh-Ann and had a daughter Renee. Paul married Juli and had a daughter Sophia. Both Peter and Sheila loved playing with their grandchildren and spending time with the family. Sheila sadly passed away in 2023 and was deeply missed. Peter passed on April 8, 2026.
Peter had a long and distinguished life in service to Hong Kong and his family. He was a man of great faith and devotion to God and the Catholic church. He was kind and generous of heart to everyone he met.
