

PHIL M WHITING, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on April 8, 2015 peacefully at home in the arms of his wife, daughter and two sons. He was born November 12, 1945 in Springville, Utah, to parents Mark & Ione Whiting, the eldest of three sons. Phil married Esther Diane Bindrup on June 7, 1969 and had three children. Phil’s greatest passion was flying, getting his pilot’s license at age 15, the youngest ever to do so at that time in Nevada. Phil attended Brigham Young University and worked his early years at Whiting Brother’s Construction, the family business. Subsequently, Phil owned many businesses and was fortunate to continue the family legacy and work side by side with his wife and two sons. Phil suffered for many years from Multiple Sclerosis, spending the last years of his life bed ridden. A beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend and Neighbor, he deeply touched everyone he knew. His strength, patience, kind heart and endurance in his final years of life is the greatest legacy he leaves behind. Although he is missed dearly, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and reunited with his loved ones that have passed. Phil was preceded in death by brother, Dennis Whiting and leaves behind his wife, Diane and daughter, Tanesa; son Bradley and daughter-in-law Anna; son Christopher and daughter-in-law Amber; 9 grandchildren – Julia, Mason, Sunny, Benjamin, Preston, Sophia, Natalie, Paul and Lincoln. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13 at the LDS Viking Chapel, 3901 E. Viking Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89120, at 10 am with a viewing from 8:30 – 9:30 am. Interment will be at Palm Mortuary Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas NV 89123 directly following.
