

Phil Dreyfuss passed away due to age and medical complications on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Born May 15, 1939 in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was pre-deceased by his parents, Louise and Philip Dreyfuss. Phil is survived by his wife Lydia, his three children Philip, Lychel and Annalyn; four grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren.
Phil, a native of Westfield and New Shrewsbury, New Jersey, met and married his sweetheart Lydia in the Philippines while in the Air Force. Following their Marriage in December 1964, they spent the next 22 years traveling the world with the Air Force. He spent his entire 28-year career within the Intelligence field retiring with the Rank of Senior Master Sergeant in March of 1987 at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Following his military service, Phil and his family settled down for the next 11 years in Bellevue, NE, just outside of Offutt AFB. After leaving the service, he joined forces with a friend from the Air Force and started a Cellular Phone business. Once in the business world, he then entered the Personnel and Payroll business becoming the President of “A Plus Personnel” and simultaneously, the Vice President of “Mountain Home RV”.
Then in May of 1995, heeding the words of his wife, he departed the civilian business world, packed up all their worldly goods and moved with their three children to Nevada where they made their roots for the rest of their lives.
Retirement found Phil restless and once again in the Cellular business, working for what is now Verizon. Nine years later in 2004, he tired of the “new” corporate world, left Verizon and joined forces with a close friend helping him manage his Cellular Business.
In September of 2009, Phil suffered a serious heart attack. Shortly after, in January of 2010, at the advice of his doctors and his wife, he permanently retired from the work force for the last time.
Content in his new retired life, Phil occupied himself with his wife, children and Grand Children. His activities now included the computer world, his weapons collection and various family activities such as fishing, target shooting, family barbeques and lots of pool time.
Phil was a devout Catholic. He and his wife Lydia stayed busy with religious activities at the “Our Lady of the Skies Parish” at Nellis AFB where they both were Ushers.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024 with a prayer service beginning at 7pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary. Funeral mass will be held at 9am on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Our Lady of the Skies Church on Nellis Air Force Base. Burial services will begin at NOON on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada.
