

Prisco Cruz Mendoza, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 7 at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and a friend. Prisco was born March 28, 1937 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines. He graduated with a degree in Accounting at the University of Luzon. He followed the love of his life, Maria, to the United States, and married her on August 27, 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They moved to Chicago where he attended Northwestern University and obtained his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1971. Prisco was a Financial Analyst at Continental Bank in Chicago from 1966 to 1977. Prisco and Maria moved to Poway, California in 1977 when he landed a job in the leasing department of Wickes Corporation in San Diego. In 1981, he transitioned to a position as a Comptroller for University Energy and worked there for four years. He moved his family to Las Vegas where he and his wife established Primar Enterprises, an importer of a variety of hand-crafted Philippine products.
Prisco and Maria were married for 57 years and they had two very successful sons. Marco, his wife Claudia Burchianti and their daughters Angelina and Cienna live in the Los Angeles area, and Carlo, his wife Renaye Moncada and their sons Brayden and Bryce live in Henderson. Prisco was preceded in death by his brother, Roger. He is survived by four siblings including Virgie, Neda, Amy, and Oscar, and numerous nephews and nieces. While living in San Diego, Prisco and his wife were very involved with the Lingayen Association, where he served as president. He was also an active member of the Dagupan Association and was involved in the financial aspects of the Phil-Am Association of San Diego. Prisco was a man of great character, integrity, and optimism. Most of all he loved and supported his family throughout his life, and for that he will be greatly missed.
The funeral services will be held at Palm Mortuary at 7600 S. Eastern Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV. Viewing and reception will take place from 4-6pm on Friday, December 22, followed by a Catholic service from 6-7pm. A dinner reception will be hosted by Chuck and Christy Smith immediately following the service at Cancun Resort, 8335 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV.
