It has really been hard  for me to share my feelings about my dad. although he belonged to a prestigious group of men, the Tuskegee Airmen, for me, he was always just Dad. He didn't glorify war. In fact, when I would ask him about it, he usually had an experience to share that let me know it wasn't as glorious as portrayed on TV. Anyway, one of the loves that he had and passed on to me was photography. So I think one of the ways  I can remember him is by sharing some pictures here as I find them.  Here's one of my favorites of him with Andrew.

I am Yvonne Lyons Turner,  widow of Gordon George Turner, Ralph's only brother.  Ralph was Gordon's  big brother who was only a year older.  Gordon respected that fact explicitly!
 We are very proud of both brother's legacy as Tuskegee Airmen.
Our family, Gail Turner Jacobs, Gordon George Turner, Jr., and George Lyons Turner dearly loved Uncle Ralph.
Ralph was a loving son who cared deeply for his mother, Gussie Turner Jackson.
We send our condolence to his immediate family.

Rest in Peace our precious Pappa T. You were a trailblazer as a Tuskegee Airman.  You were a proud member of the Kappa fraternity,  and a giving member to the community every where that you lived.  
So many people's lives were touched by your Loving spirit. May you rise in Glory and Rest in Peace.

Ralph married my great aunt and took for good care of her. He was a wonderful and loving man who came to join our family.  My thoughts prayers to his family and mine and my great aunt, who loved him dearly. He was best friend is my great uncle and will not be forgotten. God bless you Ralph. Rest In Peace.
