Lawrence Ray Meador, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 14, 2013 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital. Ray was born on November 3, 1954 in Rantoul, Illinois to Edward and Patsy Meador. He attended and graduated high school in 1973 from Grapevine High School in Grapevine, Texas. It was here during these years where he was part of the Future Farmers of America, rodeo sports, and received his certifications as a diver. Ray began his life-long trade as an electrician, specializing in his early years in boiler and motor controls. Fort Worth, Texas is where Ray met his soul mate and life partner, Nann. Together they dedicated their time and love to their family. Ray enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to spend time in the mountains, the ocean, or long days at the baseball park with his sons and grandsons. He truly loved his golf time, not always his game, but the sport of it. It allowed him time with his friends and colleagues. Ray worked the past 17 years at the MGM Grand and considered the place filled with family and friends. Ray was a loving and committed family man. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Patsy Meador; wife, Nann; children, Nicholas, Clinton, Kristy, Danny, and Michael; grandchildren and god-children, Morgan, Reghan, Landon, Madison, Ryder, Cason, Arianna, and Isabel. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 3:00-7:00pm at Palm Valley View on Eastern with a memorial service to be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 1:00pm.
