

He graduated from the University of Santo Thomas (Philippines) with a Bachelor of Arts and graduated medical school from Manila Central University in 1963. In 1969, he was commissioned as an officer in the Armed Force of the Philippines Medical Services and was a member of the Philippine Medical Association.
In 1974, he moved to the United States and began a long and successful career as a family physician. He lived in West Virginia where he served as Clinical Director of State Hospital, Louisiana and later in Alabama where he shared wonderful memories with his Filipino friends. After 23 rewarding years at Bryce Hospital (Tuscaloosa), he eventually retired and settled in Las Vegas, Nevada where he enjoyed his favorite hobbies of gardening and past times. He contributed some of his time traveling to the Philippines and volunteered on a medical mission trip to Cebu.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Consuelo A. Averion; his loving children, Jeannette A. Lovell, Annie A. Keriotis, Cynthia A. Magtoto, Ricardo A. Averion, Renato A. Averion, Jr. and their spouses; and eight grandchildren who all cherish and love him.
He will dearly be missed by his family.
