In 1954, he moved with his family to Las Vegas, and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1956. Rex was a member of the Sir Roller Car Club and loved cruising Fremont St. and going to the Blue Onion Restaurant where he later met his wife of 54 years, Janet. After high school, Rex entered the construction industry and eventually became the general superintendent for M.J. DiBiase, working with them for 40 years. He raised three boys, Gaylen, Ron, and Mike in his home on Sunrise Mountain. Rex retired from the Carpenters Union Local #1780 in 2000. After a short retirement, he worked as a consultant for Steve Wynn in Macau, China, later working for PCI and Martin & Harris until 2014. Rex enjoyed camping, hunting, going on cruises, dining out, working in his green house, helping Janet with arts and crafts and taking his annual trip to Blue Springs Ranch, and most of all he loved his beloved dog, Scotty, and seven granddaughters. He had an amazing sense of humor, loved joking, pulling pranks, and telling stories. His one of a kind personality will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet; their sons, Gaylen, Ron and Mike; and seven granddaughters.
