

Reynalda “Reyne” Dulay Macasil was a natural leader whose winning presence allowed her to take control of various situations with ease. Equipped with a clear and calculating focus, she possessed a tough-minded, “take charge” attitude. She had the ability to make even routine situations seem exciting, and she was at ease with the role of playing problem solver. Sociable, analytical and pleasant, Reynalda was an individual who enjoyed life’s challenges.
Reynalda was born on July 18, 1944 at Ancestral House, Poblacion Aringay, La Union, Philippines. Her parents were Felipe B. Dulay and Lucia Geronima B. Dulay. Always able to express herself well, Reynalda possessed strong interpersonal skills. She was optimistic in her outlook on life and was able at all times to be open and direct in her communication. Armed with a great wit, Reynalda was raised to be accepting of others and to implement a strong personal work ethic. Reynalda was raised with four siblings. She had three older brothers Bernabe, Francisco, and Bernardo, and her older sister Rosalina. Reynalda had a strong desire to be treated fairly and would readily offer others the same fairness in return.
Known to others as a focused, logical, open-minded and somewhat driven individual, Reyne was able to utilize these qualities to succeed in high school. Her curious nature was spurred by her ability to maximize her personal learning style through employing a hands-on approach. She was good with facts and had an excellent memory, which allowed her to become an honor student. When the goal of college was in sight, it became important to Reynalda. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1971. Her favorite course was English Literature. She was a Partial Scholar; First Vice President of the English Class (1968-69); member of the Feati Educators Club, the Student Catholic Action, and Gabay ng Diwa.
Friends and acquaintances found Reyne an easy woman to get to know, and those close to her would often praise her open, practical style of communication and relaxed approach to life in general. Reynalda was uncomplicated and straightforward in her relationships, which allowed her to accept people for what they were. While growing up, some of her best friends were Milagros Mabanta and Angie Dulatre. Later in life, she became friends with Alberto and Milagros Concepcion; Emerlinda Garcia, Ilma Luczon, Rosie Trovela, Willie and Gloria Torredondo, Emer and Procy Jacela, Romy and Mel Maano, Romy and Lina Pireto, Francis and Susan Ycasiano.
On June 23, 1966 Reynalda exchanged wedding vows with Martiniano O. Macasil at the St. Lucy Parish of Aringay, La Union Philippines. Reynalda was attentive to Martiniano's feelings, and she charmed Martiniano and others with her gift for being able to give freely and generously. A good listener with an engaging personality, Reynalda was able to bring pleasure and unexpected humor to the relationship. Very much like a kid herself, Reynalda identified with the inquisitive and creative side of her children’s personalities. She was able to direct her energy and spontaneity towards helping her children acquire added common sense skills. Reynalda was blessed with two children: her son, Sonny, and her daughter, Maria Elizabeth. She and Martiniano were also blessed with four grandchildren, Sharinna Mae, Sean Martin, Carl James, Raemarc Julian.
Reynalda was a flexible worker who was able to draw the best from others around her. She was a good negotiator who enjoyed new challenges. Her primary occupation was as a Government Employee (Cashier). She was employed by the Philippine Government for 25 years. She started working for the Central Luzon Cagayan Valley Authority (CLCVA) in 1979 and retired from the Department of Public Works and Highways in 2004.
Reynalda enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. She had something of an artistic flair in many of the things that she did. She put this creativity toward all of her pastimes. Her favorite pursuits were gardening, bowling, and reading books and novels. She was content to enjoy her hobbies alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Reynalda held close traditional values and as a result, faith was important to her. She was a member of Couples for Christ for more than 25 years. During that time, she provided a support group to couples in strengthening faith and relationships.
When Reynalda’s retirement finally came in 2004, she was well prepared. Still, she was able to easily adapt to possible changes and enjoyed just having fun and being relaxed. Her new life involved relocating to Rhodes Ranch Las Vegas to be closer to her daughter and her family. In retirement, she found new pleasure in attending meetings and get together activities with other members of Couples for Christ.
Reynalda passed away on April 24, 2023 at St. Rose Hospital San Martin Campus in Las Vegas Nevada. She is survived by her children Sonny and Susan; Maria Elizabeth and Raul; her grandchildren Sharinna Mae, Sean Martin, Carl James and Raemarc Julian, and her older sister, Rosalina. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary in Las Vegas Nevada. Reynalda was laid to rest in Palm Eastern Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Reynalda was the kind of person who could win others over easily. A concrete communicator, she relied on her senses to increase her involvement and awareness of others. She was always able to provide amusing repartee to her friends and acquaintances, offering a seemingly endless supply of quips, anecdotes, jokes and stories. She enjoyed her life and the experience of living it. This is how everyone will remember Reynalda Dulay Macasil.
