My heart go out to your family
I started working with Rita at the school district in the 80s. She was a good friend and fun to work with.  She'll be missed.

When me and Rita went to Universal, she made believe you pick up these heavy rocks

Rita was like my other sister,  we grew up together since both our parents were sisters and widows at the same time

When I was 17, I went to California to spend the summer with Rita and Chuck. We did this old-fashioned picture

I'm so sorry for the loss of Rita. She was such a wonderful person. I had the privilege of working with her at Wildflower Elementary School. She will surely be missed. My condolences go out to her family.

I will never forget Rita!  She was a real hoot most of the time and usually had everyone in stitches.  But, that’s not to say she couldn’t be serious when there was a need to be.  Working in Child Nutrition could be a challenge at times, but she wasn’t afraid to tackle those challenges. 
I will miss you, Rita. I was so looking forward to our yearly visit when I come in May.  I know MaryK and I will share many memories of you while I’m there.  I’ll forever love you dear friend!

When I think of your mom, I think of the playful face she would make when she would give me a lil shove when she saw me at temple. I remember as a kid I was always down to participate if the Grayne’s were going. True story, it was my first question, are the Grayne's going… and the Scheers lol I knew it wouldn’t be so bad, and that’s mostly because of Rita. She made the experience better. Her presence kind of kept me at ease. I can’t explain it. Rita also kept my parents easygoing. She had a real effect. I noticed when we would always go out to eat my dad and Rita would always end up in conversation with just them lol It’s hard to explain it, but I am so grateful for her being in my childhood. I’m not just saying that, I really was lucky. I’m seriously going to miss her. I miss the going out to eats. The get togethers, the pool days at the country club, all of it.

I met Rita when I went to work for the Palmdale School District. We both worked in different cafeterias and decided we could never work together in the same one, or work would not get done. When ever we got together we had fun, Managers meetings were a time to vent, good ideas and even a few crazy ideas. After many years with her spoon in a pot, she decided to set her sites on becoming a Child Nutrition Assistant Director. And she did. She was kind, very well liked and handled her new position with ease, until her retirement. 
I have so many wonderful, fun memories of working with Rita, that will last forever. You will be missed my friend! I love you, Mary Smith
