A Legacy That Lives On

“To live in hearts, we leave behind is not to die.” - Thomas Campbell

Rizalina Juan Javier, lovingly known as "Lina," age 89, of Las Vegas, Nevada, peacefully passed away on (Ash) Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital - Sienna Campus in Henderson, Nevada. She was born on December 30, 1935, in Metro-Manila, Philippines, to the late Aurelia Mendoza and Mariano Juan.

Lina was a devoted wife of 61 years to Celedonio, a loving mother to her children— Corazon (Shoji) Ketchem, Stella (Rafael) Lim, Cecilia (Corby) Meyer, Rosario, and Jose Celedonio II (Joyce) Javier —and a proud grandmother to Joselito, Carlo, and Emeil Javier; Shozo and Masayoshi Ketchem. She is also survived by her dear brother, Ernesto Juan.

As an accounting secretary at Ortigas & Company in Metro-Manila, Philippines for over 40 years, Lina touched many lives with her unwavering dedication and professionalism. Lina retired in the Bay Area, California and then moved to Las Vegas 2 years ago.

Outside of work, she was a woman of many passions. She loved shopping, traveling, and playing tennis, but above all, her family was her greatest joy. Her faith, resilience, and devotion to God and her loved ones shaped everything she did, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

Lina’s warmth, kindness, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be in her life. Her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on March 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Holy Spirit Church, 5830 Mesa Park Dr, Las Vegas, NV, followed by a reception (details to be announced).

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their love and support during this time.

A life well lived is a precious gift of hope, strength, and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad, with smiles and sometimes tears, with friendships formed and good times shared, and laughter through the years. A life well lived is a legacy of joy, pride, and pleasure—a living, lasting memory our grateful hearts will forever treasure. – Author Unknown
