Robert Lee Mather, Jr. Bob was born in a small town in Kentucky, August 22, 1922. He and his father moved to Boulder City, NV in 1932 to work on the building of Boulder Dam. Bob remained in Nevada, later moving to Las Vegas where he joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving honorably in the European theater during WWII. At the end of the War, he continued on as a skilled and gifted general contractor, building various commercial sites around town. Bob, an avid golfer, was playing the greens up and down the coast of California, when he met Gertrude Tory and her three children in 1964. They were married July 15, 1968 in the Little Chapel of the West and recently celebrated 47 exciting years of marriage. Bob passed away peacefully on September 17, 2015 leaving behind his daughter Susan Marxen, her children Gary Marxen and Amy Jennings; his loving wife, Gertrude and her children Jeri Conklin, Stan Tory and Candy Martin: seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bob was active in Christ Church Episcopal; loved fishing and traveling, gifts he passed on. He was loved by many and his sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.
