Robert Orville Rains Jr.

Growing up in El Paso, Texas, and playing high school football, he earned the nickname "Killer"—though he was the furthest thing from

one. Never forgetting his Texas roots, he greeted everyone with a warm "Howdy" and often answered with, "I reckon." He was a smart businessman, a generous mentor, and a father figure

to so many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those he loved, no matter the cost to himself. Quick with a funny remark or one of his famous one-liners, Robert could light up a room just as easily as he could command it. In 1962, Robert moved to Las Vegas. After working for several years at the Nevada Test Site,

he became an electrical contractor and built a successful business through determination, hard work, and vision. Always thinking ahead, he chose a mountaintop overlooking Las Vegas as the

site for his dream home. For years, he carefully designed every detail and personally sourced materials to create what became an extraordinary home in what is now known as Seven Hills. It

was one of his proudest accomplishments. He built it large enough to welcome family and friends, often saying that no one who came to visit would ever need a hotel because they would always have a place with him. The breathtaking views of the Las Vegas Strip from his home will forever remain in the hearts and memories of those who shared them with him. Robert had the opportunity to attend Texas A&M University, but life's circumstances prevented

him from completing his degree. Although he carried that disappointment with him, he never allowed it to define him. Instead, it inspired him to ensure that future generations of his family

would have every educational opportunity he did not. Because of Robert's commitment to education, his family will continue to pursue their dreams with opportunities he worked so hard

to provide. Throughout his life, Robert was blessed with people who stood faithfully by his side, especially during his most difficult days. Sarah, his devoted caregiver, cared for him tirelessly and earned a

place in his heart as the daughter he chose. Karin, his trusted secretary, kept everything running smoothly for many years. Delia, his dedicated house manager, was always just one phone call

away, no matter the situation. Terry, his closest friend and business partner, remained loyally by his side through it all. And Bobbi, his eldest daughter, lovingly supported and cared for him throughout his life and especially during his final years. Robert's greatest legacy is not found in the businesses he built or the home he created, but in the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the opportunities he made possible for generations to come. He will be remembered for his generosity, his strength, his unmistakable

Texas charm, and the unwavering love he had for those fortunate enough to call him family and friend.
