

Robert James Zuliani, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2015 after a long illness. Robert was born on June 6th, 1938 in Detroit, MI and was the oldest son of Raymond and Angela Zuliani, becoming the first Zuliani born in the United States. Robert graduated from Burbank High School, where he made some lifelong friends in the Stocker car club. After high school, Robert served in the U.S. Army Reserves in Kentucky, where he trained to become tank driver. Once Robert exited the reserves, he went to Los Angeles Valley College, where he earned an AA and discovered his talent for football. Later, Robert attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he became an All-American football player, who was incredibly fast for his size. In 1962, Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In his early years of college, he also found his best friend and lifelong sweetheart, Eleanor Laurie Bergmann, to whom he married on September 1st, 1963 in Reno, Nevada. In the late 1960’s, Robert and Eleanor began a family together in Reno NV, and later moved to Danville, CA. During his mid-life, Robert enjoyed fishing, water skiing, boating, road trips and camping with his family. Additionally, he was an avid softball player and enjoyed motorcycle riding as well as a hearing a good joke, telling a great story, and having an even better meal with friends. Robert then went on to a long career in finance and real estate with Beneficial, which later became known as HSBC. Through his time with the company, Robert had the opportunity to travel to 49 U.S. states. He made many friends over his 40-year stay with Beneficial/HSBC, and held many titles, such as manager, auditor, and most notably, director. Robert served the company as a director for several years before he entered into a well-deserved retirement, upon which, he moved to Henderson NV. Robert spent many of his retired days playing golf with his friends, hanging out with his dog, reading the newspaper, visiting with neighbors, making new friends, and keeping in touch with old ones. His uplifting spirit touched everyone he knew. He was a source of laughter, happiness, and generosity to family and friends, as well as a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents, and he leaves his wife Eleanor, his daughter Michelle and son-in-law Keith, his son Michael and daughter-in-law Julie, his brother Don and sister-in-law Mary, his nephew Tony, his 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Allison, Sabrina, Austin, Tyler and Mackenzie, and many close friends.
