She was born January 7, 1950 in New York, New York to Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Moyne. She found her soul mate and partner for life at the tender age of 13. She went on to marry George Edwin West at the age of 18 in Queens, New York.
Roberta was the President/CEO of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union, Local 711, a retail clerks/meatcutters labor union from 1993 to 2012. She received many awards for her leadership. She was also a part of many memberships throughout her union career. The union was her pride and joy.
She is survived by her only daughter, Tanya Marie Noya; her son-in-law, David Noya Jr.; her two grandchildren, James Patrick Connors IV and Angelia Marie Connors; and all her family, friends and members of the union who brought her great joy throughout her years.
Funeral services to be held at 12:30pm, February 26, 2021 at Palm Eastern Mortuary in a private ceremony.
