

Langille in Denver, Colorado. As a young boy Roger and his family moved to Elmhurst Illinois,
where he remained through high school. He graduated from York Community High School in
1964 and enrolled at the University of Illinois, Champaign. He was a member of the Alpha Delta
Phi fraternity and earned a degree in mechanical engineering.
Roger was a lifelong Chicago sports fan of the Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks, and a firm
supporter of the Green Bay Packers. Additionally, he attended the Indy 500 multiple times with
his father, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore.
In 2004, Roger moved to Henderson, NV, where he would remain. He parlayed his
degree into a plethora of experience as an engineer for US Steel, a plant superintendent for
Union Carbide Container Division, and a project manager on numerous construction and large
engineering projects. For work and pleasure he traveled to all 50 states and many foreign
countries including France, Hungary, Singapore, and the U.K.
Roger had many hobbies in addition to travel, such as bridge. He made wooden models
of ships and planes. He made sure to follow his favorite sports team and watch them
whenever possible. He enjoyed dining out, reading, and keeping up on current events. He was
also known as a gardener, tending to the rose bushes in front of his house for many years.
He is survived by his spouse, Carrie MacDougall and his step-son Michael (Diana)
MacDougall. Roger was previously married to Judy Davis before her passing, and leaves
behind his step-son Steve Davis (Victoria) Two other stepsons, Dennis Davis and Jack Davis,
preceded Roger in passing. Roger is survived by four step-grandchildren: Garrett, Jessica, Kyle
and Jordan.
A Celebration of Life for Roger will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
