I'm so sorry for your loss. I will always see Roger walking at Beltway, he was very quite and kept to himself but he will smile when we will cross paths. May God give you strength on this difficult time, he will be missed.

Dear Shirley family,

I have known Roger since 2006 when I first came over to Pearson building. He was one of the first people I met as I needed to interact with him and the team with batch scheduling on a regular basis. He was so calm and cool regardless of what was going on and I always admired that. I was saddened to hear about his untimely passing as I know he was so looking forward to retirement and becoming an even "calmer" version of himself. I hope you know that he was really liked and respected by his NVE family and I will miss him not only for what he did as a colleague but more importantly I will miss Roger the friend!!!

May God give you and your family strength as you work through this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of the death of my childhood play mate and second cousin. We used to build a lot of highways with our toy cars underneath our Grand mother Corkren's house when we were kids. We also ate a lot of pineapple sandwiches. Those were the good old days. Praying for his wife and family.

Aunt Catherine and Roger lived two houses down from us( Frank and Barbara Shirley) on Lawrence Street in Brilliant Alabama. We visited Aunt Catherine and Roger frequently. Roger , the quiet person he was , I always enjoyed trying to make him laugh and talk. He was my walking professor in high school and college. He never refused to help me in his shy way. Roger will be greatly missed by all his cousins and friends and family that knew his smart, kind, soft spoken soul. Rest In Peace Roger! Until we meet again .
