Roland Douglas McCarthy

Roland Douglas McCarthy, age 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 in Las Vegas. He was born on November 12, 1943 in Brunswick, ME and grew up in Southington, Ct. He had been a Las Vegas resident for the past eight years.

Roland joined the United States Navy and completed his military career with the United States Army, serving as a recruiter until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked for General Dynamics, further assisting the United States Military as a Master Welder, building submarines, retiring in 2010.

He enjoyed riding Harley Davidsons, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clayton Scott McCarthy.

Survivors include his children: John (Ashley) McCarthy, Amy (Steve) Robins and Marcus (Alexa) McCarthy; eight grandchildren; one great grandson, one great granddaughter, and siblings: Linda (Pat) Lombardi and John (Mary) McCarthy.

A graveside service for Roland will be held at 1:20pm on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Highway, Boulder City, Nevada.
