

Ron McIntire, 73, of Las Vegas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011. Ron was born to Arthur and Zelma McIntire (Trail) in Fairfield, Iowa, June 22, 1937. Ron spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force and met and married the love of his life, Donna Cunningham June 3, 1961. Ron was a mechanic and served in England, the Azores, Okinawa, and several bases in the States. He loved the Air Force, but he found his true calling in law enforcement for the State of Nevada, retiring in 1992. Ron and Donna have called Las Vegas home since 1965, and have always loved the great southwest. Ron made many friends, never met a stranger and had a kind word and a joke for everyone. His wit and kindness was known by all he touched. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather and good friend, Al Waterhouse; brothers, Merle and Kenny; and sister, Dorothy. Ron is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Donna McIntire; daughter, Stacey Ginoza; son-in-law, Jason Ginoza; son, Ronnie; daughter-in-law, Jessica; and grandchildren, Brittany, Taylor and Tiffani Lewis, Alexia, Jacobi and Zayden McIntire; sister-in-law, Shirley Cunningham; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Doris of Oregon; sister-in-law, Helen McIntire of Iowa; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. The family wishes to thank the staff at Comprehensive Cancer Centers, especially Dr. Edwin Kingsley and Nathan Adelson Hospice. Donations can be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Ron's name.
